Financial Loan Program Study

The Texas Technology Access Program conducted a one-year study, using multiple strategies, to determine the need for state financing activities. The study focused on developing a low-interest rate financial loan program to facilitate consumers' ability to purchase assistive technology. The study showed that there is an interest in developing a financial loan program however the program has not been able to secure funding necessary to start such a program. There are however several national programs that offer loans for assistive technology.

Current National Financial Loan Programs

There are currently several national assistive technology loan programs that are available to Texans. They include:
The Association of Blind Citizens, Assistive Technology Fund;
The Bank of America, BOA Access Loans;
The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), DCU Access Loans
